Elizabeth Leah Manning (1886–1977). She was an educator, social reformer, and a Labour Party member of the British Parliament in the 1930s and 1940s. After unsuccessfully attempting to persuade the British government to change its stance of non-intervention in the Spanish Civil War, she became secretary of the Spanish Medical Aid Committee and organized the evacuation of Basque children to England during the Spanish Civil War.
