Edith Pye
Edith Mary Pye (1876–1965) was an English midwife and international aid organiser. She worked and established maternity hospitals for refugee women and was president of the British Institute of Midwives. She received the French Legion of Honour for her humanitarian work during the First World War. She assisted in the evacuation of Basque children to England and continued her work for peace and relief for war victims for the rest of her life.
